In an election season filled with rhetoric on both sides of the aisle, one might wonder if there’s an impact on our country's children--even closer to home--the children in our community.
On October 28, 2016, Canfield Village Middle School will partner with the Mahoning County Board of Elections to hold a day of mock elections. Students in grades 5-8 will have the opportunity to cast a ballot in 6 different polling locations using an actual voting machine. The mock election will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The machines are being provided by the Board of Elections to show the students the actual process as well as determine the winner. The results are expected to be final on Monday, October 31, 2016.
