Dear Canfield Community,
Canfield Local Schools’ legacy as an outstanding educational environment is founded on academic excellence, shared vision, long standing traditions, respect, and high levels of student involvement. Successful school districts, like ours, place a high degree of importance on ensuring that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential inside and outside of the classroom.
There is a clear sense of purpose in our schools. Each and every decision we make is centered around our vision statement, “We will create an educational environment which challenges each student to achieve at their highest potential, leading to top 10 rankings in Ohio by 2022.” You may wonder, what does this mean? This means that when we make decisions, even difficult ones, we think of the educational environment we are creating for our youngsters. Is the environment allowing our children to achieve at their highest potential? Keep in mind that potential is different for each student. Some students excel in the arts, some in academics, and some in athletics. Our mission is to educate and motivate our students for lifelong success.
We cannot do this alone. We thank you for sending students to school with a positive attitude ready to learn in an environment that is built on mutual respect and high standards of performance. Our school culture is based on our core beliefs.
? In a culture of leadership that inspires and equips students and staff for continued growth and lifelong learning.
? In the partnership of family, school, and community which continuously teaches core values such as respect and responsibility.
? In treating one another as we want to be treated, abiding by a high moral code including kindness, empathy, and tolerance.
? In providing an education which encompasses a broad range of disciplines K-12, important to nurturing well-rounded students.
? In meeting each student’s individual needs by maintaining and cultivating high expectations.
I am looking forward to the second half of this year as well as spring.
