According to Lifebanc, in Ohio, there are more than 3,500 people on the national waiting list and approximately 2,000 live in northeast Ohio. Students in Health at Canfield High School will hear from Lifebanc in November. Instructor, Mike Strohecker says, “Students will be given information to make an educated decision about an important life decision. This decision will come quickly for many as they will be getting their driver’s license soon. Whatever they choose, it will be well informed.” Lifebanc will walk the students through an actual scenario that happened in Cleveland and will discuss how decisions are made for those on a list to receive organs.
