Dear Canfield Families and Community,
Thank you. It is because of the dedication and commitment of the Canfield Community, our students, and our staff that we have been able to keep our doors open. You have all done an outstanding job of notifying the buildings in a timely manner of a Covid case, quarantining when necessary, and following our mitigating efforts as outlined by the Mahoning County Public Health and Governor's Orders.
As the second semester is underway, my hope is to continue in-person learning for as long as possible. Key factors in the decision making to continue with in-person learning include whether or not we are able to staff buildings and being able to control the spread of the virus in the school setting. We are pleased to be a Covid Vaccination Clinic site for our staff as this is one more layer of protection.
If we need to shift to Emergency Remote Learning 2.0, our teaching staff is prepared. Our teachers have worked around the clock and continue to participate in professional development to be ready to flip their traditional classrooms into Google classrooms if needed. For a better understanding of our plan, please go to our Covid section on our website.
On a personal note, I want to thank the entire community for the numerous phone calls, emails, and cards welcoming me to the district. In these difficult times, your support is greatly appreciated. Best wishes for a fantastic second semester.
