Dear Canfield Local Community,
Once again, I am truly honored and humbled to be your new superintendent. My first official week on the job was filled with conversations around our Return to Learn plan. We are getting closer to the start of school and excitement is building to have your students back in classrooms. We cannot wait to see them in-person or virtually!
I have some very important information to share with everyone. Last Thursday, the administrative team and I shared a brief presentation on our Restart Plan for the 2020-21 school year. Both the Restart Plan and presentation can be found on our district website. A few key components of the plan include:
More information on the Cardinal Digital Academy can be found here. We have an informational/registration meeting set for tomorrow, Tuesday, August 11, 2020, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the CHS auditorium. Please wear your mask and practice social distancing.
A Cloth Face Mask is required for all staff and K-12 grade students on buses and while in the building with designated mask breaks for K-12 students. A Medical Exemption form must be completed/approved to wear a face shield.
Parents/Guardians MUST assess children daily for a temperature above 100.4 as well as symptoms without a known cause and MUST keep children home if either are detected.
Finally, we are planning to offer a transition evening for students entering grades K, 5 and 9. More details to follow.
As I mentioned in my presentation, it is going to take all of us working together to not only start in-person school but to keep school in session. We will need to be stronger together as a community, staff, parent, and student body. Thank you for all of your support and let’s continue to stay together and be positive for our kids.
Please note: All guidelines and reopening plans are subject to change and will be reviewed continuously to ensure cooperation with State and Local Health Department mandates and recommendations.
Joe Knoll, Superintendent
