mobile beacon

Canfield High School received the Connect for Success from Mobile Beacon which will provide internet access and laptops for students who need additional time to complete homework in school or at home. Mobile Beacon’s grant provides 25 laptops and 25 mobile hotspots with free, unlimited 4G LTE internet service for 12 months. When the grant period ends, the school will keep the computers and have the option to continue the internet service.

Today 70% of teachers assign homework that requires internet access.  With this grant, Canfield High School will help students gain internet access at home if needed. Alex Geordan, Superintendent says, “We are thrilled to receive the Connect for Success Grant. This grant will help close the homework gap in our high school for students in need of internet access or a laptop.”

Mobile Beacon provides high-speed, low-cost, mobile internet access to the anchors of communities: the nonprofits, schools, libraries, and healthcare organizations that provide vital services to millions of Americans every day. Through this broadband service, organizations have an essential tool to fulfill their missions and maximize their philanthropic impact, which allows organizations to access more information, reach more people, and help more in their communities.
