The Canfield Board of Education is thrilled to announce it received an impressive amount of applications for the board seat vacated by Craig Olson in December. “With twenty-three applications submitted to the Board, we feel the Board is in a unique position to create a well-rounded, diverse group of individuals to reflect our dynamic community and represent various viewpoints while making decisions in support of our school district,” said President Dave Wilkeson.
After the first round of interviews, which consisted of a panel including members of the Board, administrators, teachers and non-teachers the applicant pool was narrowed down to five candidates: Nader G. Atway, Matthew A. Campbell, Jacquelyn Nohra Duda, Dianna Tolen Perrico, M.D., and Kimberly P. Urig.
Candidates will participate in the second phase of this multiphase process at a roundtable on January 15, 2020, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Canfield High School auditorium. The community will have an opportunity to write questions or comments on an index card(s). These cards will be collected and organized by topic and answered by the candidates. At the conclusion of the roundtable, the Board will enter into executive session. The regularly scheduled meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the CHS auditorium. It is the intention of the Board to appoint a member to fill the vacant seat during the meeting.
Member-elect, Jenny Kluchar will be sworn in during the meeting.
